Portuguese artist, Carlos José Fonseca Martins is a painter, sculpture and ceramist. Born in Tavira, where he lives and paints from his Atelier in the little village of Sta Luzia. He specializes in painting architectural details, in oil, from the Romantic period in Portugal, using fine detail and enchanting colours.

Norwegian artist based in the Algarve & noted for a distinctive style of figure painting. She combines contemporary techniques with traditional methods & materials using pure pigments, egg yolk and linseed oil. Often painting on linen, the surface is then impregnated with handmade beeswax pasta.

Roman Markov

Inspired by his immediate surroundings. Originally from Zaporozhye, he trained at the Belas Artes na Ucrânia & now lives in Faro. He travels widely throughout Portugal recording typical scenes in a highly distinctive style.

Giles Ward

An artist with a special fascination for the creatures of the deep. Using the Algarve’s fish markets for inspiration, his mixed media paintings playfully include maps of Portuguese ports & coastal waters. He studied illustration and graphic design at Exeter College of Art.

Luis Fernández Hebrero

Painting in the hills and valleys of the beautiful Alentejo with the sun bleached villages . With a multitude of wild flowers covering the land into the far distance in great abundance before the scorching sun dries them to a crisp. Hebrero studied art at the prestigious Carcula de Belles Art in Madrid and then studied with the great master painter Juan Valenzuelay Chacun.

June Szucs

June use oils, acrylics, resins and flow art to create her artwork. She experiments with colour and different mediums and her style is ever evolving. Colours and movement inspires her.

Dylan Lloyd

Best known for his painted gardens where plants are illuminated by an inner radiance. Cleverly exaggerating the depth of field, including a hint of pixilation, they are like other-worldly photographs. The artist lives in Dorset & graduated from Falmouth School of Art in 1994.

Based in Philadelphia & qualified at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art. Subsequently her paintings have been exhibited at the State Museum. She observes everyday life, sometimes taking photographs to advise her paintings. From these studies she creates highly realistic, contemporary images.

Based in Hauzenberg, Germany, Diana creates the most powerful and dramatic abstract images on canvas. Her use of bold broad strokes of vivid paint, creates a blast of colour.

Magdalena Morey

Qualified at Marie Curie Skldowska University in Lublin, Poland and went on to live in England and Switzerland before settling in Spain. A passionate experimental artist working with mixed media which is especially evident in her abstract landscapes.

Ernesto Meis

A German artist living in Seville from where he travels to the Algarve’s Ria Formosa sandbar islands. Often the subjects of his paintings, he produces audacious images of the lagoon with brightly painted fishing shacks & boats made from solid blocks of colour.

Jo Quigley

Attributes his style of work to the influences of Pissarro, Hopper & Lowry. Widely praised for his realistic paintings, he has been shortlisted as BBC Wildlife Artist, Surrey Artist of the Year & in other major competitions. He has a BA & an MA.

Nicky Chubb

A love of textiles as represented by the colour, pattern and texture of her glorious contemporary works of art. An optimist at all times, her stated aim is to evoke happiness and hope through her paintings. She qualified from Central St Martin’s in 1993.

A multidisciplinary artist based in Italy whose works have been exhibited both nationally, in the USA and in Kenya. Most recently his research has focused on the beauty of the anthropological face and on the exoticism of our contemporary civilization. Di Genni has always found inspiration through different cultures, the exotic landscapes of faraway places and wild animals.

Phyllis Calvin Thomas

A Northern Californian Oil painter, paints "en plein air". Her favourite tool is the palette knife and is used predominately in her work. Her palette knife frees her from focusing too much upon detail and moves paint rapidly with a lively texture.

Amadeo Cianci

Paints the rugged and wild cliffs and azure water at the Praias da Serra da Arribida in the center of Portugal. The choice of colours and tints are are delicate yet vivid with great depth. The rock features are defined as they plunge into the crystal clear and sparkling waters. The brushstrokes strong and confident using the technique of impasto, where the paint is laid on the canvas in thick layers. Cianci exhibits in Milan, Bordeaux and Madrid.

Kevin Lowery

Kevin Lowery is a seascape devoted painter living and working in the North-West of Ireland. Living by the sea all his life has inspired Kevin to paint the rolling surf, merciless oceanic turmoil, and the ever changing skies found along the coastline. Human beings have always had an intimate relationship with the water, and Kevin has always had a particular interest in the often unpredictable and life-changing nature of the sea, which can be seen in his unique ability to depict changing light on water and rapidly altering climatic conditions. Having studied painting at Dublin’s National College Of Art And Design in the early 2000s, Kevin has exhibited extensively with numerous works in both Irish and international collections.
